Kitchen Job Description - Quality Assurance Manager for Dierbergs -

Dierbergs Markets, a premiere grocer in the St. Louis, MO area, has
a need for a Quality Assurance Manager at their Central Kitchen facility. This
state of the art facility produces fresh prepared foods for Dierbergs
23 store locations.
Position Summary:
Hands-on technical manager responsible for overseeing all facets of
a high volume fresh prepared food production facility to ensure all
processes and methods of production lead to a quality and consistent
food product that is safe and wholesome. Responsible for ensuring
all plant personnel follow production standards, specs, recipes,
GMP’s, SOP’s, HACCP Guidelines, sanitation standards,
proper food handling and safety guidelines, as established by the
Q.A. Manager, Plant Director, Safety Manager and state and federal
regulations. This manager will work closely with the Prepared Foods
Manager in testing ingredients, recipes, shelf life studies, developing
production processes and monitoring recipe yields.

Reports to: Central
Kitchen Plant Director and the Director of Foodservice
Qualifications:
- Technical degree (Food Science, Food Technology, Biology, Chemistry).
Must have a passion to work with fresh prepared foods and people.
- Fresh prepared food service/processing/manufacturing background
required (minimum 3 years). Knowledge of perishable food products
and processing required.
- Expertise in Quality Systems and requirements, including HACCP,
GMP’s, SOP’s, Plant Hygiene, Equipment Calibration, Food
Allergens, Food Labeling and Sanitation Processes and Standards.
- ServSafe Certified.
- Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive food safety program.
- One year plus of management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Must possess strong human relations skills with the ability to
teach, coach and counsel associates; build teamwork and associate
morale; possess good conflict resolution skills; and the ability
to work with a wide variety of people with differing backgrounds
and abilities in a union environment.
- Ability to set high standards, lead, manage, delegate and follow
through with plant personnel directly and indirectly. Must be able
to be assertive to hold personnel accountable to standards and implement
corrective action when necessary.
- Demonstrates strong problem solving skills with the ability to
develop new ideas and solutions to problems.
- Must possess high degree of self-motivation, initiative and dedicated
work habits with a desire to lead and work with others.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs and
processes.
- Excellent reading, written and oral communication skills. Ability
to write detailed specs, standards and operating procedures.
- Demonstrates effective planning and organizational skills with
ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within a fast paced
environment.
- Open minded, flexible and receptive to change.
- Must be able to work in various environments of the plant from
34 degrees in the cold zone to 70-100 degrees in the hot zone.
- Flexibility
in scheduling is required and may change based on production needs.
Primary schedule consists of a.m. shifts Monday through Friday but
evening and weekend hours will be required during peak production
periods, the implementation of new products or as needed. The
plant currently operates Monday through Saturday and operates on
Sundays on an as needed basis.

Our Nampa, ID potato processing plant has an immediate
need for an Electrical and Process Control Maintenance
Supervisor.
What does this title mean?
A journeyman electrician with a notable talent for maintaining machinery
at maximum operating efficiency.

Directs and coordinates the instrumentation, computer and electrical
needs of the total operation to ensure maximum operating efficiency
in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
This position is accountable for the maintaining, upgrading, and
continued operation of the electrical, instrumentation and control,
and vision sorting systems of the facility and in keeping up to date
with the latest technology in the field of electronics. This position
trains and manages the electrical staff and Process Control Technicians
and System Service Technicians in a participative management style
to ensure the quality, quantity of work performance and development
of subordinates meets the necessary requirements to meet operational
goals.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from
four-year college or university. Three plus years related experience
and/or training. Combination of education/experience will be considered.
- Potato and/or food processing
experience to include: frying, drying, blanching and sanitation.
- Certificates: Demonstrated knowledge and skill
in PLC's is required.
- Licenses: Journeyman
Electrician License is preferred.
Must be available in the event of unplanned downtime that requires
special and/or extra means to get the factory up and running.
